Colorado registered voters as of 1 December 2019

This is a privately owned genealogy website using a purchased copy of the Colorado voter list. A clean voter list is essential to fair elections. Public scrutiny of the voter list can help maintain the integrity of the list and reduce fraud. That is why Colorado law makes the voter list a matter of unrestricted, public information. This site is intended to help genealogists use that public information to trace their family trees. Use this website at your own risk. There is no warranty.

Defeat Senate Bill 105. Mountain Standard Time is the mean solar time of 105 degrees west. Mountain Daylight Saving Time, which equals Central Standard Time, is the mean solar time of 90 degrees west. Since Colorado extends from roughly 102 to 109 degrees west, the whole state belongs in the Mountain Time Zone. All of Colorado is closer to 105 degrees west than to 90 degrees west.
If you enjoy long sunlit afternoons, then instead of working from 8:00 to 17:00 Mountain Daylight Saving Time (It is singular.) why not work from 7:00 to 16:00 Mountain Standard Time? It is exactly the same thing. Petition your employer, not lawmakers. Federal law allows the State to exempt herself from daylight saving time, (15 U.S. Code § 260a(a)(1)) but does not allow her to extend it.
The Utah border is 28 minutes behind the Kansas border. Local towns and local businesses need the freedom to establish their own hours of business, but the hours need to be expressed in Mountain Standard Time.
In any case, legal documents such as birth certificates should end the guesswork, perhaps saying “The time shown is Mountain Standard Time, 7 hours behind Co-Ordinated Universal Time.”
